2 cups cooked organic short-grain rice
Microwave/Stovetop/Electric Rice Cooker
Rice Dish
1 1/2 cups water
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sesame oil
Mix the vinegar solution: In a small bowl, whisk together the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until well combined (the sugar and salt have dissolved).
Season the Rice: Pour the vinegar mixture over the hot, cooked rice and gently fold it in with a rice paddle or spatula until the grains are evenly coated and shiny.
Add Sesame Oil: Drizzle sesame oil over the rice and gently fold it in to add a subtle nutty flavor.
Cool the Rice: Let the rice cool to room temperature, uncovered, while fanning it occasionally to help it cool more quickly and prevent it from becoming sticky.
Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the short grain steamed rice under cold water to remove excess starch and prevent clumping.
Combine rice and water.
Boil: Bring the mixture to a hard boil over high heat.
Simmer: Reduce heat to low, cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid, and simmer gently for 15-20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed
Rest: Let the rice rest, covered, for 5 minutes to allow the grains to fully absorb the moisture and become fluffy.
