2 cups Noble Mills Basmati Kernel Rice
Microwave/Stovetop/Electric Rice Cooker
Rice Dish
4 cups water
1 teaspoon salt
Optional: 1 tablespoon ghee, cardamom pods, cloves, cinnamon stick, bay leaf.
Rinse: Rinse the Basmati Kernel Rice thoroughly under cold running water until the water runs clear. Rinsing the rice thoroughly removes excess starch, resulting in fluffy and non-sticky grains.
Boil: Add the rinsed rice to the saucepan with the toasted spices (if using). Pour in the water and bring to a boil.
Simmer: Reduce heat to low, cover the pot tightly, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed.
Steam: Turn off the heat and let the rice steam for an additional 5-10 minutes. This helps the grains fluff up and absorb the remaining moisture.
Fluff: Gently fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
For a softer texture, use a 1:2 ratio of rice to water. For a firmer texture, use a 1:1.5 ratio.
Adjust cooking time based on your stovetop and desired texture.
